An Ode to Your Horse

Horses have been the constant thread in my life — shaping who I am, grounding my spirit, and filling my days with beauty and purpose. They are not just animals to me; they are companions, teachers, and mirrors of the soul. My love and respect for them is woven into everything I create.

Over the years, I’ve sought a way to honor that connection, to give it form and texture. My paintings are that expression — unique, one-of-a-kind works of abstract art that pay tribute to the horses who have touched our lives.

Each piece begins with acrylic paint base and evolves through layers of mixed media: plaster, concrete, and textures that speak to the strength and presence of the horse. For those who wish, I incorporate the most personal of elements — the hair or ashes of a beloved horse who has passed — so their spirit becomes part of the work itself. I also fold in fragments of the world they knew: the red Virginia soil beneath their hooves, weathered leather from tack, pieces of wood from the places they called home.

The result is not just a painting. It is a living memory — a tactile, visual embodiment of the bond between horse and human.
